Yes, successful treatment requires treating the whole person, not just the addiction. All Niagara Recovery patients receive a psychiatric evaluation in the first 24 hours so that any mental health issues may be identified and addressed.
When you arrive at Niagara Recovery, you will be graciously greeted by one of our intake coordinators. They will provide you with and assist you with all the paperwork needed for admission.
One of our caring nurses will then take your vitals and ask you some questions about your medical history, including any medications you are taking. The nurse will ask you for a urine sample to see the drugs in your system and to better guide and inform your detox and treatment needs.
Staff will then take an inventory of your personal items to ensure they meet our guidelines and will store your valuables in the safe. It is possible that you may enter medical detox or begin residential treatment right away, but that is dependent on your admissions paperwork and the medical team approving you for admission.
At Niagara Recovery, we know that your residential stay is only the first step in your recovery. That’s why we work with you to create a plan for your transition out of the program. On day one, we start creating an aftercare plan for you. When your time at Niagara Recovery comes to an end, you will have a fully customized discharge plan.
